KOTOR 2

Post by clubbin »

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II -- SPOILER below...

I just finished this game and I gotta say, I'm kinda dissapointed. It seems like the game isn't finished. There were quite a few bugs in the game came up repeatedly, and the ending left so many characters dangling. But the storyline itself wasn't even very strong in my opinion. You could gain light or dark points just by talking to someone in your party, and sometimes you have no choice on what to say.

The story was predictable. I never liked that old hag that'd been following me around the whole game, but I couldn't get her to go away. Turns out she's the villain and she's been manipulating me the whole time! Too bad the only reason she ever made it past level 6 was because you HAVE to have her in your party for several sequences. But Darth Sion and Darth Hungryman were barely in the story at all and it turns out they've been plotting to kill me for a long time. Yeah, them and about 2,000 other bad guys I cut down with my lightsabers. I can see where they were going with the story about how powerful the main character is, but I don't think I fully grasp the scar in the force theory.

But what's really been bothering me the most is: doesn't the first game end in it turning out that the main character IS Revan? I could have sworn that's what happened. This isn't the case in the second one, unless nobody knows it, again. Also, what exactly was Malachor V? I know what it is, but when did the storyline take place there -- was it before KOTOR or during it?

Don't know about your KOTOR2 questions, but yes, in the first one the main character finds out they are Revan.

I keep debating buying the game (kotor2) but from what I've heard it's no match in story line to the first one.

Malachor takes place before/during KOTOR. It's a fight during the splitting of the Jedi.

I've enjoyed the storyline, I knew the hag was a pivot point (she's either evil or not depending on your alignment at the end). I wasn't really happy with the ending, ending, but I did enjoy the overall game play and story. I haven't played the female character, but I've played two male (good and evil) counselors at this point.

I'm still pissed that in the first one that Bastila is your 'friend' if you are female and your lover if you are male. WTF is that?

That inconsistancy where it turns out you are Revan in the first one and everyone understands that you and Revan are totally different people in the second one really bothers me. The first game started that you had amnesia and thus, no recollection of the past. The second game starts out the same way. Wonder how the third game will start? I'm not sure if I buy the amnesia bit twice in a row. I think they could have started somewhere else and made this a much better game. The ending was pretty weak. You know, this sequal reminds me a lot of what HALO2 was to HALO.

I didn't realize the old hag would be good or evil based on what you are. I was a goody goody two shoes Jedi Weapons Master in this one. I plan on playing through the first one evil this time, probably as a consular and Sith Lord in the second one. I like how the first game ended with you having defeated your rival and now the fate of the universe rests on you on what to do with your power. You could say that the second one is the same way, but everything they leave hanging at the end makes no sense at all. For example, what happened between the two remote droids? We assume that the little guy got that last charge off, but whatever happened to Goto? I guess maybe what you do after you beat Darth Oldhag effects what you see. The choice I made (to leave) was very dissapointing. Maybe I will see what the other choices do...

The game wasn't finished and they rushed it out. There's a bunch of content on the disc that isn't hooked up. The ending is lame.
