A judge has ruled that Ohio's new constitutional ban on same-sex marriage prohibits unmarried people from being able to file domestic violence charges, a decision that has prompted an immediate appeal by prosecutors.
Wednesday's ruling by Cuyahoga County common pleas judge Stuart Friedman changed a felony domestic violence charge against Frederick Burk to a misdemeanor assault charge.
Now I don't have to feel so guilty about beating my girlfriend
The problems arising in Ohio say less about the Gay-Marriage ban and more about the shitty state of Ohio domestic violence laws. (And this from a guy who thinks that the Gay Marriage ban was a mistake.)

One time, this friend of mine and I were watching one of his dumb animes about robots being passed off as celebrities. One of the characters mentioned that all the robots were women, and asked why. I voiced the obvious conclusion that it was impossible to program the higher degrees of logic and reasoning that men use, so only robot women were made because no one would believe a man could be that stupid. Then my friend's girlfriend slapped me, so I punched her in the face. It was great.

All kidding aside, I don't think I could hit a woman, even if she slapped or punched me, unless I thought she was out to kill me or someone else.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.
It's all a matter of degree. I've always been a believer in the notion that there are certain lines you just don't cross unless you are willing to deal with the repercussions. A physical attack is one of those lines. I would respond in kind.....slap for a slap, punch for a punch.
Don't stand on the train tracks if you don't want the train to hit ya.
