Ok.. so I finally got a DVD Burner... Now What?

Post by Robyn the Ranger »

It's nothing fancy.. just an older DVD burner a friend of mine gave me. How can I copy movies from Blockbuster? I have another drive that can read DVD's or I can just use the burner as the source and burn drive.

What's a good program to try to snag so I can really take advantage of my membership at Blockbuster =P. (I have the unlimited movies thingee) And uh.... that's it..

I'm sure what you meant to say was:

I have a huge DVD collection, and my bratty kids scratch the fuck out of them.

Therefore, I would like to make legal backup copies for my kids to destroy while keeping the originals in good working condition.

Far more information than you'll ever need, so the link you probably want to read first is here.

If you have the right software (read: Linux and K3b), you can make an ISO of your DVD, provided you have space on your hard drive, and then burn that ISO onto a new dvd. I don't know if Windows Burners can do this, but I wouldn't doubt it.
