Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

Ok when I start windows (I'm guessing when my internet connects) it gives me this error:

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encoutnered a problem and needed to close.

This error occurred on 4/19/2005 at 2:34:26 AM.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem. ect...

Odd, I've developed the same problem on both my machines. Adware and viruses show nothing.

It means one of your services blew up. Right click 'My Computer', choose 'Manage' and drill down to the services thing. Look for a service marked "Automatic" that isn't running.

Hmm ok just downloaded a windows update that fixed it.

While we're on computer issues, any of you wundertechs know how to pull host information off an email? I need to find out what our email host server name is and our IT guy has dropped off the planet.

I think there was something done in a recent security patch that caused this issue. After submitting my usual error report to MS for the 10th time or so I was asked for info so MS could contact me directly to discuss the issue. I am guessing this is some kind of automatic escallation process when their system receives too many reports about the same issue but who knows. Glad to know there is a hotfix for this.
