but this is for anyone whos playing EQ

from the preorder email I received

Pre-order and purchase the digital download version from the Station Store and receive a unique Gargoyle Spirit Shroud and adventure as a Monster or purchase the Retail Box Version from a participating retailer and receive a Clockwork Boar mount plus the Gargoyle Spirit Shroud.

I have never understood why SoE gives the "feebies" to those who wait and buy the retail box either. Seems to me that those who pre-order should get the goodies.

Undercutting retailers is usually not wise if you want them to continue carrying your product.

Precisely. Shelf space costs money, and carrying a product entails a certain amount of risk--will it move well enough to justify the space it occupies?. Retailers need some kind of assurance that they won't be undercut by the publisher, either with lower pricing or greater value. So, the retail boxed version gets extra crap.

Though if Sony continues in the tradition of the "free gifts" it's included with its retail bundles in the past, I personally expect the clockwork mount to have no effect on meditation and to move at snare speed.

really its worth it even if its a broken clockwork (don't move). hell why havent they added fold up chairs for mount bennies without movement??

Now that Depths of Darkhollow has gone live can anyone report on how valuable/laughable the mount is? Is it worth getting via shipment or just get online and forget about it.
