First Guild?

Post by Josephin DuPhaedrus »

How many of you remember the first EQ guild you were in? Remember what a pain in the arse it was to get a guild started when you had to have at least 10 members on-line and in the same place when the GM came to flag everyone?

The first guild I joined was Sisterhood of Erollisi, run by Luna. I figure you old-times have to remember Luna. I was like lvl 16 or so, and it was the suckiest-ass guild, lol. We never did anything together, and Luna was a 40-something enchanter who wouldn't help anyone make lowly n00b stat jewelry. Too funny.

Than I started some guild with Vast (Vast Empire? who knows), but that didn't last long because he pissed everyone off and they quit, haha. I think I went to the first GotR after that...then Order of Eternity, some others I can't remember, then White Wolf Bridage (/wave Arlcan!) before I took a year off.

Definitely met some interesting people during all that guild hopping - fun times when guild masters weren't assholes. 8)

The Zan Fi Monks, run by Jagriel.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

OMG, I remember the Zan Fi Monks - seemed like such a fun guild that I was tempted to make a monk. And Jagriel...I haven't thought about him in years. Best monk puller I ever had the pleasure to group with...Fire Giants, PoH, PoF...and a really nice guy too.

Yeah.. in the early days of EQ, if you were a good monk puller, you learned the technique from Jag. He actually held classes on it for the guild (all monk guild).

And yeah, he is one helluva guy. I still stay in touch with him. We jump around from game to game together. Both of us are salivating over the upcoming release of Vanguard.

First Guild: Balance of Paradox

Great RP guild ran by Starke Ravingmadd then by Dloc - both great leaders and writers. They had a lot of events or storylines with guilds like Evoluxa, Order of Elder Dragons, Solus, Obsidian Blade (then Shadows of the Blade), Wings of Honor, Silver-something and a few other RP guilds.

My first guild was Shields of Light. About a year after I joined the guild tore itself appart. There were a bunch of euros in the guild who split to make their own day hours guild and a bunch of others split off to to join Guardians of the Relics which was just just starting up at the time.

Iliandra I remember you in Pawns of Prophecy which was my first guild. And I have to agree with Rsak Lhanna was the psycho druid that founded it.

Knights of Freedom, and hey they are still around to this day. As a matter of fact I think they recently announced that they have broke into the elemental planes and are regularly raiding 3 year old content. They may be casual, but they certainly seem to have patience.

Anyone remember the Protectors of Norrath? That guild cracked me up with all of it's politics after the whole thing fell apart.

I remember you too Ethelwolfe =)

A psycho druid named Lhanna might have founded it but the time I got there it was Pulbas.

Good times.

After the self destructive tendencies of Lhanna see seemed to mellow out a bit and joined Order of Eternity with Infinyte who I think was the guild leader. (Been too long to remember correctly)

White Wolf Brigade, although I mingled with Rubyknights/Quorum people and I actively participated with alot of Knights of Freedom stuff (back in the Dami/Daisy days).
